Smiths Racing Team took to Oulton Park this bank holiday weekend to contest the Motorpoint British Supersport Championships whereby 19-year-old Jake Dixon took yet another win on the factory-backed Daytona 675R.
Clawing back what looked like a unfortunate weekend when Dixon was involved in another rider's crash in the 'sprint' race of the weekend, which beforehand Dixon sat confidently in fourth place. The second race seemed to be unfolding in a similar way until a safety car period let Dixon take advantage of the four-lap dash to the finish, leading Dixon to successfully challenge Andy Reid for the lead on the penultimate lap. Dixon took and held the lead despite intense pressure on the final lap to take his second win of the season.
Jake Dixon now sits in third in the championship with 99 points behind Kyle Ryde and Luke Stapleford with 110 points and 111 points respectively.
