The Smiths Racing Team had a strong first weekend of the year as their 2015 MCE British Superbike and Motorpoint British Supersport Championships got underway at a sun-drenched Donington Park in front of a big Easter crowd this weekend.
Following a close second place in the opening race of the Motorpoint British Supersport Championship, 19-year-old Jake Dixon made his debut victory aboard his Triumph Daytona 675 in the second race of the weekend. The win sees Dixon jointly leading the championship after the first round.
With Graeme Gowland out injured road race star Guy Martin stepped in to get some track time on the Dayonta 675 prior to taking the bike to the Northwest 200 and the Isle of Man TT.
The Haribo Starmix team also kicked the season off in true Triumphant fashion with two race wins. Taking a brave step into the British Supersport EVO championship, Joe Collier took his Daytona 675 to victory with two wins and now leads the Supersport EVO class after round 1.
